The qualifiers for the Round of 16 in the ISSA daCosta Cup were completed on Thursday, October 24, 2024, after Denbigh High edged Belair High on goal difference to join group winners Happy Grove High as the qualifiers from Group 5.
Lashawn Barnaby scored all four goals for Denbigh High as they beat Holmwood Technical 4-0 at Foga Road High, while group winners Happy Grove beat Belair High 5-1 at Brooks Park with a hat trick from Bonny Chisholm and a brace from Shevone Miller.
Both Denbigh High and Belair High finished with four points, but Denbigh High finished with a plus-3 goal difference to Belair High’s negative two.
Happy Grove High completed a perfect round, ending with nine points. It joins Glenmuir High as the only school to win all three games in the Round of 32.
Denbigh High will play in Zone 4 of the Round of 16 against Central High, whom they met twice in the first round, McGrath High, and Manchester High.
Happy Grove High will play in Zone 3 alongside Glenmuir High, Dinthill Technical, and Ocho Rios High.
Zone 1 will feature Kemps Hill High and Garvey Maceo, who faced each other in the first round, STETHS, and Alphansus Davis High; four former champions will play in Zone 2: Frome Technical, Munro College, Cornwall College, and Clarendon College.
