Charlemont led 2-0 in the encounter

The final of the ISSA/Wata Ben Francis KO was called off at halftime on Friday as heavy rains left the Juici Field turf under inches of water and unplayable.

Charlemont High led Petersfield High 2-0 at the stoppage, and it is understood that the game will continue on Tuesday at the same venue with the second 45 minutes.

In the historic final, featuring two teams seeking their first ever senior football trophy, Charlemont High made the best of their few chances and led 2-0 with goals from Darren Wildman and Howard Barker, early in the game before the rains started.

Wildman gave Charlemont High the lead after 13 minutes after the Petersfield High goalkeeper spilt the ball, firing it back into the goal for his 10th of the season.

It was 2-0 five minutes later when Barker turned in a cross from just on Petersfield High's left upright.

Petersfield should at least be level but missed some good scoring chances, one before Charlemont got on the scoresheet.
