The first two semi-final spots in the ISSA daCosta Cup football competition were claimed on Saturday after Manchester High and Manning’s School won their second quarterfinal games against William Knibb and Frome Technical respectively.

Despite playing under challenging conditions at STETHS, Manchester High beat a fading William Knibb 3-1 and Manning’s battered Frome Technical 6-1 in their border clash at Llandilo, both games in Group B.

The wins gave both Manchester High and Manning’s School six points and ensured their qualification to the semis with a game to be played.

Shaquiel Campbell, Adrian Campbell and super sub Jhaeem Bryan scored for Manchester High while Mark Lewis scored a late consolation for William Knibb who lost their third game in a row.

Rushawn Graham scored a hat-trick, Shamar Hamilton got a brace and an own goal made up Manning’s goals as they were tied 1-1 at halftime.

Clarendon College extended their unbeaten run beating Edwin Allen 2-0 at Brooks Park for their second win in the quarterfinals with goals from Khaiem Dixon and Marques Reid,

Dinthill Technical rebounded from their loss to Edwin Allen in their previous round to beat Central High 3-1 at Foga Road with goals from Giovanni Afflick, Tyhamba Chin and an own goal. At the same time, Shane Gordon scored for Central High.
