Figiting for possession Cornwall and Green Pond

Twelve-time champions Cornwall College made it a ‘bakers’ dozen’ wins at Green Pond High after their 2-0 win on Wednesday’s ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup Zone A first-round game made it 13 straight at the venue dating back to 2008 when they met for the first time.
Aiden Jokomba scored both goals for the 2016 champions as they took over the lead in Zone A ahead of St James High, on goal difference, both on six points, while Cornwall is yet to concede a goal in 180 minutes.

Green Pond ended the game with ten players after Anthony Crooks was sent off in the second half.

Cornwall College has never dropped a single point at Green Pond and have now scored 37 goals there, conceding just four and has scored 17 goals in their last four games, with five each coming in their previous three trips.

St James High scored back to back 2-1 wins, edging Irwin High who are winless in their last 12 games in Zone A.

Former DaCosta Cup star and ReggaeBoy Hector Wright got his first win at Anchovy High after they edged Maldon High 2-1 setting up a meeting against Cornwall College on Saturday.
