Cornwall College vs Green Pond

Former champions St Elizabeth Technical High (STETHS), Dinthill Technical and Clarendon College as well as Charlemont High could clear the first hurdle today and book one of the 32 places in the second round of the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition if they win their first round second leg games today.

However while STETHS in Zone E, Dinthill Technical and Charlemont High in Zone K all need to win to confirm their places, Clarendon College will need help from the other Zone H game if they are to make early progress.

STETHS leads Zone E with 16 points and if they beat Maggotty High today for the second time this season, they would secure at least second place in the zone.

STETHS had won the first game 1-0 at Maggotty and will be expected to win at home where they have scored 15 of their 20 goals scored so far this season.

Dinthill Technical and surprise team Charlemont High are tied on 16 points at the top of Zone K and if they win their games today, would secure the two automatic spots from the group.

When they met a week ago, Dinthill Technical hammered Tacius Golding 7-0 while Charlemont High edged third-placed Ewarton High 1-0 but would have home field advantage today.

Clarendon College has won all four games played so far and are on 12 points and lead today's opponent Lennon High on goal difference at the top of Zone H.

Lennon High played five games, one more than Clarendon College and was outplayed 5-1 when the two teams met last week.

A win for Clarendon College and draw between Thompson Town and Edwin Allen would see the former champions and last season's beaten finalists advancing to the next round.
