Manning’s School got their 2022 ISSA daCosta Cup campaign off to a fast start with a 5-1 thumping of Grange Hill in their Zone D game played at Llandilo Complex in Sav la Mar on Saturday.

After being held scoreless in the first half, last season’s beaten finalist ran roughshod over Grange Hill in the second half, with five different players finding the back of the net.

Jhamaleek Porter, Dainton Williams, Rushawn Graham, Kajaye Williams, and Shamar Hamilton were the scorers for Manning’s School.

Petersfield High are joint leaders of Zone D on points after blanking Belmont Academy 3-0 in their game,

Meanwhile former champions STETHS and Dinthill Technical were winners in their opening games.

STETHS blanked Sydney Pagon 4-0 to take the lead in Zone E as Munro College and Maggotty High played out a 1-1 draw and Lacovia and BB Coke High were scoreless.

In their opening game, Dinthill Technical beat Ewarton High 3-1.

Matthew Ellis scored a double for Charlemont High and Jason Blake got the other as they beat Enid Bennett High 3-1 with Rodgrick Youngsam scoring for the losers.

Tacky High were 4-0 winners over St Mary High in Zone J, while Morant Bay High and Seaforth High were 2-0 winners over St Thomas Tech and Yallahs High, respectively.
