Five of the eight spots in the ISSA daCosta Cup football competition have been filled after Dinthill Technical, William Knibb Memorial and Central High booked their spots on Friday.
Dinthill Technical handed William Knibb Memorial their first loss of the season after winning 3-0 at Drax Hall but both teams made progress after Cornwall College gave up a two goal lead in the first half and drew 2-2 with Paul Bogle High.
Central High also advanced from Group 1 after drawing 1-1 against Christiana High to be on five points.
Meanwhile defending champions Garvey Maceo’s must-win game against Manchester High was rained out and has been rescheduled for Saturday at Wembley Centre of Excellence.
Clarendon College and Frome Technical booked their spots on Wednesday and will meet for the Group honors on Saturday.
Dinthill Technical qualified for the quarterfinals for the ninth straight season as goals from Kimani Small, Giovannie Afflick, and Daniel Roberts gave them back-to-back wins after they had lost their opening game.
They won the group on goal difference as they had four goals to William Knibb’s negative 1 as Cornwall College who needed to win to get into the last eight were held at home.
Braxton Richards gave the home team a two goals lead after 23 minutes but Paul Bogle hit back with goals from Tajhean Mayne in the 31st minute and Jaydon James in the 40 th minute.
