St Catherine High won their first-ever football title on Friday after outscoring Excelsior High 3-2 at the national stadium to lift the ISSA Walker Cup KO title.

Ashawni Brown scored two goals in the first half for St Catherine High, scoring 19 goals for the season, as they came back from a goal down to win as Excelsior lost in back to back finals after losing to another first time winner, Hydel High last year.

In a pulsating game that was the curtain-raiser for the Manning Cup final as St Catherine High who were in their first major final, led 3-1 before hanging on for the slim victory.

Jevon Smith who also had two goals in the game, gave Excelsior the lead in the 29th minute before Kamika Davis levelled the scores in the 36th minute.

Brown got the first of his brace in the 39th minute to make the score 2-1 in favour of St Catherine then added another just before the half time break to gave his team a two goals advantage.

Excelsior cut the deficit to one goal late in the second half when he scored a penalty kick but that could not come all the way back.
