The ISSA/WATA schoolgirl football competition began on Wednesday, February 13, 2020, at Manchester High school with a dress parade and three matches.
The opening game saw Mile Gully High edging host Manchester High 2-1 in what was a close encounter. Last season’s beaten finalist Denham Town High gave a masterclass display as they hammered Edith Dalton James High 9-0 in the second matchup. Jawara Atkinson was the player of the match bagging seven goals for Denham Town.
Excelsior High reminded the onlookers as to why they are the defending champions after slamming opponents Kingston Technical 12-1.
Matchday two saw the eagerly anticipated Clarendon derby between former champions Lennon High and the newly invigorated Garvey Maceo High. The result reflected what was a one-sided affair as the new queens of Clarendon thumped Lennon 7-0.
Results elsewhere saw Kemps Hill defeating Vere Technical 3-0, Campion College 11-0 Tivoli High, Glenmuir 3-2 Central High, and Pembroke Hall 5-0 STATHS.
