Former Herbert Morrison Technical athlete Latesha Bigby won the first event at the 2015 Penn Relays carnival after taking the College Women’s Heptathlon crown on Wednesday.
Bigby who attends Northern Illinois University scored 5146 points after starting the day on 3197 points, to land her first Penn Relays individual event.
Penn’s Noel Jancewicz was second, 95 points back with 5051, just one point ahead of Northern Illinois’ Claudette Day-5050 while Villanova’s Katherine Petruzzelis who was second overnight finished fourth with 4907.
On Wednesday’s second day, Bigby jumped 5.32m in the long jump for 648 points, threw the javelin 28.75m for 453 and then ran the 800m in 2:18.19 seconds for 848 points.
