Cumberland high advances to the second round of the ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup competition.
Coach Kemar Brown has written his name in the history books of Cumberland High as they left the group stage for the first time in the school’s history. It was left late as Cumberland with sheer determination and willpower regrouped to find the winning formula when it mattered most, as they had to come from behind to defeat Papine High in their final group game to pinch the second of two best third-place qualification spots.
Cumberland High ended the first round with 17 points from 10 games, scoring 19 and conceding 11 goals. The Gregory Park-based institution finished third in Group A behind St. George’s College and St. Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) respectively.
