William Knibb Memorial missed their first opportunity to qualify for the quarter-finals of the ISSA daCosta Cup football competition after they were surprised 1-0 by 10-men Holland High in their derby game played at William Knibb on Tuesday.
They also lost their perfect win record in the process and leave Garvey Maceo as the only team with a perfect win record in the competition.
William Knibb is however still the leader with 15 points and in control of their own destiny, Cornwall College who clipped Herbert Morrison Technical 1-0 also at William Knibb took over second place with 13 points, one more than Herbert, with one set of games to go on Friday.
William Knibb was held scoreless for the first time this season, by a determined Holland High who were only playing for pride as they cannot advance from the group.
Holland High was reduced to 10 men after Husseth Brown was sent off in the 24th minute but Jaheim Sankar scored the winner in the 43 rd minute, firing under goalkeeper Khamal Hall from well outside the area.
Cornwall College who went into their game as the underdogs, got the better of their Montego Bay neighbors once more as Davian McLean scored from inside the 18 yards box in the 40th minute.
