Montego Bay United (MBU) are the leaders of the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) after beating Molynes United 1-0 on Sunday for back-to-back 1-0 wins early in the season.
MBU are on seven points after three games, one more than Cavalier FC, defending champions Harbour View and Arnett Gardens, all of who also had their second win of the season on Sunday.
Johann Weatherly’s eighth-minute goal was the difference for MBU, a week after they had scored in the first half and managed to hold off Waterhouse FC.
Nicholas Hamilton scored a brace to lead Harbour View to a 4-1 win over Dunbeholden FC in a repeat of last season’s final.
Timar Lewis gave Harbour View the lead in the 11th minute but Fabian McCarthy pulled one back for Dunbeholden FC in the 29th minute.
Hamilton restored Harbour View’s lead in the 34th minute with his first of the, Oshane Staple made it 3-1 in the 58th minute before Hamilton completed his brace in the 86th minute.
Arnett Gardens handed Waterhouse back-to-back losses, beating them 2-0 win in the second game of a doubleheader at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.
Meanwhile, Humble Lion got their first win of the season, handing promoted Faulkland FC their third straight loss with goals from Rushane Sharpe in the 30th minute and Jermaine Christian added a second in time added.
The other promoted team Chapleton Maroons also lost their third straight, going down 3-0 to Cavalier FC.
