Clarendon College became the third school to win double-digit ISSA daCosta Cup titles on Saturday, December 3rd when they beat first-time finalists Central High 3-0 in the final at St Elizabeth Technical High Sports Complex in Santa Cruz, to take their 10th lien on the trophy.
Cornwall College leads with 12 holds on the title with Rusea’s High next with 11.
Malachi Douglas gave them a first-half lead while goals from Kristoffe Graham and Keheim Dixon in the second half saw them run past Central High who had made it past the quarterfinal for the first time ever.
Both teams had qualified for the final after penalty kick wins earlier in the week, Clarendon College saw off last season’s beaten finalists Mannings School and Central High beaten Manchester High after both games had ended in 1-1 scorelines after 90 minutes of regulation.
Douglas opened the scoring in the 14th minute when he finished off a brilliant move down the middle of the Central High defense.
Graham scored his second goal of the season in the 60th minute when he held his composure in the face of the onrushing Central High goalkeeper Stephen Hamilton and guided the ball past him into the open goal.
Dixon was well placed at the far right post in the 85th minute to tap in a cross from Marques Reid who had danced past two defenders on the left wing.
