Four schools, led by former champions Glenmuir High have won their first three games in the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition after wins on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

Holmwood Technical, Port Antonio High and Happy Grove also extended their winning starts to three games.

Glenmuir High continued on their merry ways after clipping Garvey Maceo High 2-0 in their Zone I top of the tables clash in May Pen, Clarendon with Ricardo Binns scoring a first half double, netting in the 21st and 29th minutes.

The loss ended Garvey Maceo’s own two games winning start, the first goals they were conceding this season.

Holmwood Technical edged Alphansus Davis High 1-0 in their Zone G game as they took over the lead from Christiana High, their best start in years.

Port Antonio beat Wycliffe Martin High 2-0 at Carder Park with goals from Jeho Thompson and Dwayne Rodgers while Shevon Miller scored a brace to lead Happy Grove to their third in a row, beating Morant Bay High 3-1 at Morant Bay.

Herbert Morrison who played most of the game with 10 players after Dantay Morle was sent off in the first half, blanked St James High 3-0 with two penalties from Shaquan Walters and a second half goal from Sceon Robinson.

Morle was shown two quick yellow cards late in the first half, within a few seconds, the first came after a rash tackle on a St James High player and the second for arguing with the officials.

It was Herbert Morrison’s first goal since they lost 4-1 to Cornwall College on the opening day.
