Central High School achieved school history on Saturday, September 21 when they managed to get full points from Clarendon College in an ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup game, clipping the 11 time champions 1-0 in the first round game played in May Pen.
A week after Anchovy High’s massive upset over Rusea’s High, Alrick Archer wrote his name in Central High’s history when he scored in the second half to beat Clarendon College and joined then at the top of the Zone H points tables, both on nine points.
Clarendon College had not lost a first round game in the daCosta Cup since the 2021 season when they lost by the same margin to Glenmuir High.
Holmwood Technical meanwhile joined Glenmuir High and Happy Grove on five straight wins after edging Mile Gully High to retake the lead in Zone G with 15 points, three more than Christiana High.
Belair High took over sole lead in Zone F after a massive 5-1 beating of Manchester High thanks to Ajwani Waughope’s brace while Christian Henry, Miguel Harrison and Jayvion Rocket all got one each.
Keanu Reid scored a hat trick and Tyrese Brown got two goals as Ocho Rios High hammered York Castle High 7-0 in Zone I as they increased their lead to six points.
There were 3-0 wins for joint Zone D leaders William Knibb Memorial and Spot Valley over Cedric Titus High and Muschett High respectively in a double header played the Trelawny Multi-purpose stadium.
