MANDEVILLE, Manchester — Edwin Allen have been awarded three points from their drawn first-round Zone H ISSA/Gatorade/Digicel daCosta Cup game against Claude McKay played on September 22 after their opponents were penalised for using an ineligible player.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the daCosta Cup Disciplinary Committee held at Manchester High on Wednesday where it was also decided that the Zone G game between Holmwood Technical and Christiana High would be replayed on Thursday, October 4.
George Forbes, Competition co-ordinator at ISSA, told the Jamaica Observer that Claude McKay had used an ineligible player in the game played at Edwin Allen that had ended in a 1-1 scoreline.
He said, however, it was the Claude McKay administration that had brought the mistake to ISSA's attention and voluntarily conceded the points.
As a result, he said, no further actions would be taken against the school.
The two points pushed Edwin Allen's tally to seven from four games at the midway point of their first round schedule and in third place.
Clarendon College lead with 10 points with Lennon High next on eight points.
Meanwhile, Holmwood Technical have been ordered to take on the costs of replaying their game against Christiana that will take place at Kirkvine.
The game that was played at Holmwood on September 19 was blown off early due to crowd problems.
According to the ruling handed down Holmwood will reimburse Christiana's cost to get to the game as well.
