Former Champions Kingston College, had to work hard versus a determined Jose Marti Technical team to secure their 1-0 victory in their return fixture of the ISSA/DigiCel Manning Cup game held at Jose Marti school grounds.
Deshawn Byfield’s first-half header secured all three points for KC as they extended their winning run to seven games. On what was a wet and slippery surface the famed purples had to adapt and manage their game plan to perfection. The host Jose Marti Technical played the patient game as they tried to catch their opponents on the counter but it was to no avail as they failed to breach the KC defense.
The game ended in favor of Kingston College who tightened their grip on Group C.
Other results on the day saw Jamaica College dispatch Excelsior High 3-1 in what was a highly anticipated rematch. Calabar High crushed Kingston Technical 10-2, STATHS defeated Camperdown 2-0, Campion College 3-1 Penwood and Vauxhall edged Haile Selassie 3-2.
