Inspirational skipper Tahj Beckford scored five times as Jonathan Grant cruised to victory over Pembrook Hall.
Beckford opened the scoring with a wonderful header at the back post in the first half; he then replicated his first goal for a second off yet another set piece with a calmly guided header.
Jonathan Grant led 2-0 heading into the break. The second half began on a cracking note, where Beckford scored directly from the kick off spot. A goal of such beauty that even the referee stood in admiration as Beckford secured his hattrick.
However the show wasn’t over and Beckford buried another beautiful freekick from 22 yards out and grabbed his fourth of the game, he then capped off his five star stellar performance by converting a penalty and securing three valuable points for his team as they hunt second round berth.
Other result in the zone saw group leaders Haile Selassie fend off the hardworking St Catherine High 1-0 to hold unto the top of the standings. The group will now be decided by the top of table clash between Jonathan Grant and Haile Selassie on Wednesday October 12, 2016.
