Belair High School topped the points tables in the first round of the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup competition for the first time after they hammered May Day High 8-0 in their return round Zone F game on Friday, October 11, 2024.
Ajwani Wauchope scored a double to take his tally on the season to 13 goals while Christian Henry, Fantae Johnson, Kaheel Melhado, Miguel Harrison, Dejon Pinnock and Jayvian Rocket also scored.
Belair High and Manchester High who had both qualified for the Round of 32 before Friday’s games, both finished with 27 points but they had a better goal-difference of 42 to Manchester High’s 28.
Christiana High beat Holmwood Tech for the second time this season, edging them 1-0 in a meeting of the top two teams in the zone who had already booked their spots in the Round of 32.
Spot Valley High were also zone winners for the first time in many years after beating Discovery Bay High 4-0 in Zone D where Muschett High ended their season on a high with a big 6-1 win over Holland High.
Charlemont High also went out with their heads high after clipping Dinthill Technical 2-1.
Titchfield High ended Port Antonio High’s perfect record, holding them to a 0-0 draw after they had won their first eight games.
