Bridgeport High School had the only victory on Derby day as they edged St Jago High 2-1 at the Spanish Town Prison Oval. Bridgeport dominated early proceedings and took advatange after goals from Javaughn Dunn and Carlyle Gudridge saw them end the first half in cruise control.
After a stern halftime team talk, St Jago came out fighting and after waves of attacks, all the pressure payed off when Darnel Williams pulled one back for the Monk Street boys. Bridgeport saw the danger and now moved to ten (10) points and took the lead of Group G.
Elsewhere, the Spanish Town derby ended in a draw as Jonathan Grant and St Catherine High shared the spoils. Jonathan Grant took the lead after an own goal from Maleke Miller who headed beyond his goalkeeper after a terrible mix up inside the penalty area. Jonathan Grant took the lead into the interval.
St Catherine regrouped at the half and began to look a lot more settled and got their equalizer from the in form Shamar Solomon, who scored his second goal of the season. The result now sees both teams chase runaway leaders, Haile Selassie who are a perfect four from four.
