Three time champions Clarendon College slammed Marcus Garvey Tech 6-2 at the Juici Beef Complex yesterday in their Ben Francis KO. The Chapleton based school, Clarendon College proved why they are season favorites when they scored some clinical finishes and easily advanced to the quarter-finals.
In other games defending DaCosta Cup champion Glenmuir High lost as they were clipped 1 nil by Kemps Hill at the Jamalco field. However, Kemps Hill will now have to face the ‘well oiled’ STETHS machine in Santa Cruz.
Many time DaCosta Cup champion Ruseas High were stopped by Godfrey Stewart who won 3-2 on penalty kicks. Port Antonio High also lost on penalties to Paul Bogle High 5-3.
St. Mary Tech & Manchester High both clinched one nil wins over Dinthill Tech and Christiana High respectively.
First-timers Green Pond High from Zone A were also successful beating William Knibb High 4-1.
St Elizabeth Technical High (STETHS) advanced as they were given a bye and will play Kemps Hill on Saturday.
The next round will however kick start this Saturday October 19.
