A down to the wire race is developing in Zone G of the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition with two points separating the top five schools in the zone.

Holmwood Technical and Spalding High are tied for the lead on 11 points, followed by Knox College and Christiana High on 10 and Alston High on Nine points.

Alston pulled themselves back into contention on Saturday beating Troy High 3-0 while Christiana High maintained their record of not losing to Knox in at last the last ten seasons, winning 2-1 while Spalding and Holmwood ended in a 0-0 draw.

Cedric Titus ended Herbert Morrison’s four games winning streak in Zone C on Saturday, beating them 4-2 in the return game first-round game played in Montego Bay, completing the season sweep over the former champions.

Cedric Titus had won the first game 1-0, and their fifth straight win saw them extended their lead to six points.

Kyle Marshall scored twice for Cedric Titus as they improved to 18 points as Herbert Morrison remained 12 and in second place.

Zone D leaders Little London lost for the first time this season, going down 3-0 to Mannings School who jumped into second place with 10 points, just one behind the leaders.
