Defending champions Clarendon College and St. Mary Technical are the latest qualifiers for their respective ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup zone play-offs after defeating Edwin Allen High and Horace Clarke High, respectively, on Friday.

Holmwood Technical, Christiana High from Zone G, Glenmuir High from Zone I, Happy Grove High from Zone L, and Port Antonio High and Titchfield High had qualified for their play-offs prior to this round of games.

Clarendon College defeated Edwin Allen High 5-0 to finish the first round with 15 points, becoming the first team from Zone H to reach the play-offs.

Justin Hayles, Deandre Gallimore, Nahshon Bolt, Dusean Petgrave, and an own goal accounted for Clarendon’s goals as they rebounded from their upset loss to Central High in their previous game.

Lennon High just missed a chance to qualify for the play-offs as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Thompson Town, ending on 10 points. They must now wait, as they could be overtaken by three teams, including Thompson Town, who have two games in hand.

St. Mary Technical joined Port Antonio High and Titchfield from Zone M after a 3-1 win over Horace Clarke High on Friday.

The top four schools from the first round in five zones with more than six teams will play off for the two second-round spots from their zones.
