Defending champions Clarendon College moved to within a point of making progress to the second round of the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition after a 1-0 win over Lennon High in Zone H on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024.

The win saw Clarendon College take their points tally to 18 from seven game, two more than Central High who played out a 2-2 draw against Third placed Denbigh High in what is shaping up to be a close battle.

Frome Technical’s second 0-0 draw against another former champion Rusea’s High in three days, ensured the Westmoreland school will stay atop Zone B with 20 points.

Rusea’s High are next on 17, two more than Anchovy High who snapped a three games losing skid with a 4-1 win over Knockalva Technical in their return round game.

Cambridge High got their second win of the season, clipping Green Island High 2-1 in Hanover.

Port Antonio High won their eighth straight game in Zone M, beating St Mary High 2-0 with goals from Kerone George and Shaquone Hardware, both in the first half.

St James High rallied late to earn a 2-2 draw against Irwin High in their Zone A game played at Jarrett Park.
