Former champions Cornwall College extended their perfect win record to six straight games after holding off a determined Maldon High 2-1 in their return round ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup Zone A game played in Montego Bay on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

The win saw Cornwall College join five other schools to win six straight including Belair High, Glenmuir High, Ocho Rios High, Happy Grove High and Port Antonio High.

The Theodore Whitmore coached team are on 18 points, opening up a nine points lead over Maldon High and Green Pond who are tied on nine points each and could secure a second round spot with one more win.

National Under 14 representative Carlando Morris gave Cornwall College the lead just before half time, scoring in his fourth straight game and took his tally of goals on the season to seven.

Kenroy Thorpe equalised for Maldon High but Kayvon Donaldson scored his first of the season to ensure Cornwall College maintained their perfect start.

At Jarrett Par, St James High completed their interrupted game against Herbert Morrison with a 4-1 margin after they had led led 3-0 after 30 minutes when it was called off on Friday due to heavy rain and lightning.

St James High’s first win took them off the foot of the points tables on to five points, replaced by Herbert Morrison.

Keyanta Clarke scored a double for Spot Valley High in their 6-1 win over Muschett High to rebounded from their 2-2 draw against Cedric Titus and held on to the lead in Zone D with 16 points.

Chrisano Lawrence, Orlando Wilson, Stevan Mullins and an own goal accounted for the other goals for Spot Valley.

William Knibb Memorial stayed a point behind Spot Valley after blanking Discovery Bay 4-0 at the Noranda Sports Club.
