Defending DaCosta Cup Champions Clarendon College put on a 5-star performance as they defeated Lennon High 5-0 in the ISSA Wata DaCosta Cup 2023 season opener.
Captain Malachi Douglas opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the sixth minute after a handball was called against Lennon.
Christopher Hull doubled Clarendon College’s lead in the seventeenth minute after a spell of dominance. Kahiem Dixon and Jahmelle Ashley then further increased the punishment being given to Lennon High scoring in the 34th and 39th respectively.
Captain Fantastic then rounded off a perfect first half of football, slotting home three minutes before the half-time break.
Other results in the DaCosta Cup saw Rusea’s High hammer Cambridge High 6-1 with a brace from Deonjay Brown. Frome Techincal got the better of Merlene Ottey 3-1 to end match day one in Zone B.
