Three of the semi-final spots in the ISSA daCosta Cup football competition have been filled after former champions Garvey Maceo High edged St Elizabeth Technical on goal difference to win Group 3 of the quarter-finals after both scored big wins on Saturday.
Garvey Maceo beat St Thomas Technical 12-0 at Kirkvine and STETHS were 6-0 winners over Frome Tech at the St Elizabeth Technical Sports Complex to tie for the top spot with seven points.
Garvey Maceo who scored eight goals in the second half however had a better goal difference of plus 14 to plus 11 and joins Dinthill Technical and Mannings School in the last four.
STETHS went into the round of games leading Garvey Maceo on goal difference after they drew 2-2 in the week and got off to a fast start and led Frome 4-0 at halftime, the same score at Kirkvine.
Gregory Cousins scored five goals for Garvey Maceo, Kayon Henry also chipped in with four goals while Cleo Clarke, Lloyd Mann, and Christopher Mundle also got on the score sheet.
Roshane Brown scored twice to lead the STETHS team while Negus Daley, Michael Jerman, Zamario Douglas, and Davin Wright got one each.
