Glenmuir High made a big statement on Thursday, October 17, 2024, after beating defending champions Clarendon College 2-0 in their ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup Round of 32 Group 7 game played at Glenmuir High in May Pen, Clarendon.

After losing their last two Zone I games, Glenmuir High rebounded with a big win to join Paul Bogle High as the lead in the group, both on three points.

Dunstin Cohen scored both goals for Glenmuir High, one in the first half and the other in time added.

On Thursday, former champions Frome Technical, Rusea’s High, Munro College, and Central High, as well as Central High, also won.

Clinton Bernard scored twice in the first 11 minutes to give Frome Technical a flying start against Cedric Titus before Ramondo Eccleston added a third as they ran out 3-0 winners and took over the lead in Group 2 with three points.

Munro College is the leader in Group 4 after their 2-0 win over Alphansus Davis High at Munro College.

At the Trelawny Multi-purpose stadium, Damar Sailsman scored a header in the 57th minute to give the Rusea’s High a 1-0 win, handing Spot Valley High their first loss of the season.

The win also saw Rusea’s High take over the lead in Group 1 after Cornwall College and Kemps Hill had played out a 1-1 draw on Wednesday.

Central High beat Yallahs High 2-0 in Group 6, while Belair High and Denbigh drew 1-1.
