Former champions Glenmuir High and Happy Grove High continued their brilliant start to the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition, both cruising to their fifth straight win respectively on Friday, September 20, 2024.

Orane Watson and Orelle Miller both scored doubles for Glenmuir High as they turned back Foga Road 4-2 and opened a six points lead over second placed Garvey Maceo High in Zone I.

Glenmuir High are on 15 points, six ahead of Garvey Maceo High an Kemps Hill who have played a game less.

It was the first time this season that Glenmuir High has allowed any goals and have scored a league high 39.

Shevone Miller scored a double top take his tally on the season to 10 goals as he carried Happy Grove to a 5-0 whipping of Yallahs High.

Oshane Chambers opened the scoring in the 17th minute, Miller got his first in the 29th minute, Jabari Ellis scored in the 31st minute to make it 3-0 at half time.

Miller completed his double in the 70th minute before Tajay McZanna scored his team’s fifth goal in the 90th minute.

Anchovy High scored their fourth straight win, the best start in years after beating Green Island High 3-1 at Green Island and assumed the lead in Zone B.

Anchovy High are on 12 points, three better than Frome Technical who plays Rusea’s on Saturday.
