Former champions Jamaica College completed the match for the final of the ISSA/Wata Champions Cup after edging Hydel High 1-0 in their semi-final played at the national stadium on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
After the first game’s six-goal outburst, with Glenmuir High beating Ocho Rios High 5-1, the second game was a much closer contest between two evenly matched-teams.
It will be Jamaica College’s fifth final. They have not allowed a goal in two games in the competition after beating McGrath High 2-0 in the first round.
After coming close three times, Jamaica College finally got the breakthrough when Jabarie Howell scored the game’s only goal, beating Hydel High’s goalkeeper Adrian Robinson at his near left post with a powerful shot with the outside of his right boot.
It was Robinson’s only mistake. He made outstanding saves to keep his team in the game.
