Unfancied Lacovia High and Port Antonio are among the seven teams who earned early qualification to the quarterfinals of the ISSA/Flow daCosta Cup football competition after scoring a second win in the Inter-zone on Saturday.
Lacovia who were one of two best third place teams are atop Zone Five after a 2-0 win over Annotto Bay and are on six points while Port Antonio High lead Zone Six after edging Islington 1-0.
The other five qualifiers are former winners led by defending champions Clarendon College as well as St James High, St Elizabeth Technical, Vere Technical and Glenmuir High.
Clarendon College beat Spalding 2-0 to go to six points in Zone Four, Glenmuir High continued their high scoring ways with a 4-0 thrashing of Kemps Hill.
St Elizabeth beat Lennon High 3-1 to lead Zone Three while St James High got the better of Mannings School 1-0 and are atop Zone One. Vere Technical edged Denbigh High 1-0 in Zone Seven to move to six points.
