Mannings School ended the first round of the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition with a perfect eighth win after beating Grange Hill High 6-0 in Zone C.
Gregory Phillips scored four goals while Keandre Ellis and Zachry Clarke had one each as Mannings School ended on a high and the only team yet to drop points.
Black River ended their first round with a 5-0 win over Little London, their third straight win, scoring 16 of their 30 goals in the process.
Former champions Glenmuir High, one of the first schools to qualify for the Round of 32 and who won their first eight games, were beaten 2-1 by Garvey Maceo High in their Zone I game, losing back to back games for the first time in more than two seasons after being edged by Kemps Hill earlier in the week.
Glenmuir High who are seen as favourites in some quarters after losing in the final last season, had scored 52 goals going into Saturday’s game.
BB Coke who are hoping to get the ‘best third place’ team spot in the next round, beat Lacovia High 10-2 while Kemps Hill ended on a high with a 2-1 win over Old Harbour.
