Munro College took firm control of Zone E of the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition after beating Newell High 2-1 in their return round game played at Newell High on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
Antwon Smith scored a double as Munro College sprinted to 17 points, five more than second placed BB Coke High were held 0-0 by Maggotty High.
Many time champions St Elizabeth Technical could be in danger of not qualifying for the Round of 32 after they lost for the second time this season, beaten 2-1 by Lacovia High who were getting their first win this season.
Ocho Rios who were docked six points in the morning for using an ineligible player in two games, rebounded with a 6-0 win over Aabuthnott Gallimore High but are in second place behind Browns Town High who were 2-0 winners over Ferncourt High.
Marcus Garvey Technical were also 4-2 winners over York Castle High.
