Rusea’s High’s, William Knibb Memorial’s perfect starts to the ISSA/Wata DaCosta Cup football competition came to an end on Saturday after they were beaten by Frome Technical and Spot Valley High respectively while Happy Grove High were held 0-0 ending their winning start.

The losses left four teams-Frome Technical, Manchester High, Annotto Bay High and McGrath High as the only schools yet to drop points in the competition.

Zico Stone’s second half goal gave Frome Technical a 1-0 win over Rusea’s High in their big Zone B clash as they beat the Lucea based school for the first time since the 2015 season.

It was Stone’s third goal of the season after his brace in the previous game against Merlene Ottey High and took Frome Technical to 12 points, three more than Rusea’s High’s nine points.

Spot Valley High came back from a goal down to beat William Knibb 3-2 in their Zone C game despite two goals from Cristojae Daley to take his tally to nine goals scored.

Daley who has scored in all four games played gave William Knibb the lead but Spot Valley roared back with three goals from Daqwan Scott, Linval Linton and Kimani James as Daley kept it close with another late in the game.

Happy Grove also had their winning run halted as they were held 0-0 by Titchfield High in Zone L.
