Stevaughn Spence scored a hat trick to lead Frome Technical to a 3-2 win over Cambridge High in the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup Zone B game played at Cambridge High on Friday.
Spence’s goals spared the former champions’ blushes as Cambridge High who got two goals from Jayr Moore had battled from an early goal down to lead 2-1 late in the first half.
Frome Tech were among three former champions who won back to back games on Friday as Rusea’s High and STETHS also chalked up wins while five other schools also stayed perfect. Frome led from inside the first minute but Cambridge who lost 6-1 in their opening game hot back with goals from Moore in the 18th and 42nd minutes.
Cambridge High did not get to celebrate as Spence drew Frome back level in the 43 rd minute then scored his third and the winner in the 58 th minute.
Damar Sailsman scored in back to back games as he got the lone goal for Rusea’s High against Green Island in Lucea while STETHS were 2-0 winners over Maggotty High.
Cedric Titus High, Belair High, Manchester High, BB Coke and Annotto Bay were also winners of two straight.
Cedric Titus clipped Ocho Rios High 2-1 in Clarks Town, days after Ocho Rios had beaten Discovery Bay High 15-0; Belair High who scored eight goals on Tuesday beat Mt St Joseph High 5-0, the same margin that Manchester High got by DeCarteret College.
BB Coke stayed perfect after edging Lacovia High 1-0 while Annotto Bay High beat Carron Hall High 9-0.
Amari Reid scored a hat trick for William Knibb Memorial who bounced back from their loss to Brown Town to beat Ferncourt High 10-0.
St Mary High rebounded from their loss to Wycliffe Martin on Monday to beat Iona High 8- 0 while Grange Hill blanked Knockalva Technical 3-0.
