St Andrew Technical (STATHS) and Jamaica College will contest the ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup final after winning their semi-finals on penalty kicks at the national stadium on Wednesday. STATHS beat Wolmers Boys 4-2 on penalties after they played out a 1-1 draw in regulation while JC exacted revenge over defending champions Kingston College, winning 5-4 after losing by the same route in the Champions Cup semi-finals four days earlier at the same stadium.

The final will be played next Friday, November 29 th also at the National Stadium.

The STATHS/Wolmers game got off to a fast start with two goals in the first 15 minutes with the promise of more to come but that was not so as the two teams were forced to settle to score from the penalty spot.

Stephen McQueen who started at left back headed STATHS into the lead in the 10 th minute, getting to a corner from the right side.

Wolmers drew level five minutes when Orlando Russell got by a STATHS defender and slotted home past the goalkeeper Ricardo Laing from close range.

Wolmers started well in the shoot out, making their first two kicks and led STATHS 2-1 but then missed both their third and fourth kicks while STATHS was good with the last three kicks. In the second match, both teams cancelled each other out with few chances being created and when it came to penalties JC who missed three on Saturday, was more clinical scoring all five while Kingston College’s miss on the first kick came back to haunt them.
