Five-time champions St Elizabeth Technical and Manning’s School ran their records to four straight wins as nine schools maintained perfect win records in the ISSA daCosta Cup football competition on Wednesday.
STETHS and Mannings scored victories over BB Coke High and Belmont Academy respectively to join Paul Bogle High and Dinthill Technical as teams that have won four straight so far.
Rusea’s High, Petersfield High and Manchester High also took their records to three straight wins while Frome Technical, William Knibb Memorial, Cedric Titus and Clarendon College made it back-to-back wins.
STETHS are yet to concede a goal in four outings as Ajay Smith’s second goal of the season carried them to w 1-0 win over BB Coke.
Mannings School has not cooled off as they blanked Belmont Academy 2-0 as Jhamaleek Porter took his tally to eight goals scoring in the 51st minute Shamar Hamilton had scored the opening goal in the 3rd minute.
Rusea’s High won their third straight as Shamour Smith scored for the third straight game to lead them to a 2-0 win over Green Island, while Terome Morgan scored the other for the former champions.
Petersfield High stayed second in Zone D behind Mannings School with a 2-1 win over Godfrey Stewart High.
Manchester High beat Belair High 2-0. Stevaughan Spence scored four times to lead Frome Technical to their 7-0 win over Hopewell High.
William Knibb Memorial had the biggest margin of the day, hammering Muschett High 8-0 as Amari-Christopher Reid scored a hattrick and Mark Lewis got two goals while Cedric Titus beat Herbert Morrison Technical 3-0 in Zone C.
Former winners Clarendon College were also back-to-back winners with a 3-0 win over Lennon High with goals from Kaheim Dixon, Christopher Hull and Malique Reid.
Meanwhile Mt. St. Joseph Catholic created school history after scoring their first win in the competition, edging May Day High 2-1 in their Zone F game.
They started playing last season, losing all five games including losing 20-0 to BB Coke High and also lost their first two games this season.
