Newcomers Sydney Pagon High were not expecting the red carpet at STETHS in their first ever ISSA/Wata DaCosta Cup game and none was laid out as they were thumped 10-0 by the former champions in their Zone E game.

There were two hat tricks on the day as Giovauni Mitto also got a three timer as Frome Technical hammered Cambridge High 5-1 in their Zone B game taking the lead over defending champions Rusea’s High on goals scored.

St. James High and Green Pond High are tied in the lead in Zone A on goals scored, ahead of Cornwall College, after all three opened their seasons with wins.

St. James High beat Anchovy High 2-1at Jarrett Park in a game that featured coaches that once were teammates at Herbert Morrison Technical High.

Garfield Anderson is the new coach at St James High, replacing Theodore Whitmore, while former national midfielder Hector Wright, is the new coach at Anchovy High.

Green Pond High also had a 2-1 win over Maldon High while Cornwall College made heavy weather in their 1-0 win over Irwin High at Cornwall College.

Munro College could only manage a 1-1 draw at home to Newell High, while Maggotty High edged Lacovia High 1-0, also in Zone E.

Spot Valley High are the early leaders in Zone C, after a 2-0 win over Holland High, while Cedric Titus High beat Herbert Morrison Technical High1-0.

Muschett High held William Knibb Memorial High to a 1-1 draw in Zone C, while St. Mary Technical High edged St. Mary High 1-0 in a rescheduled Zone J game, played at the Highgate Community Centre.
