The first three spaces in the second round of the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition were filled on Saturday after former champions Dinthill Technical and St Elizabeth Technical High (STETHS) as well as Charlemont High scored win their first-round return games to ensure their places.
Dinthill Technical and STETHS were both beaten semi-finalists last year while Charlemont High was advancing from the first round for the first time in eight years since the 2010 season.
Tevin Cheese scored four goals to take his tally to 10 as he led Dinthill to a 15-0 hammering of Tacius Golding, the largest margin in any schoolboy football game so far this year.
Three other players also scored two goals each Rasheede Parkinson, Oneil Small and Ackeem Mullings for Dinthill who are now on 19 points, the same as Charlemont High in Zone K.
Charlemont High beat Ewarton High 3-0 to keep abreast of Dinthill in Zone K, both on 19 points and separated by goal difference.
Charlemont High are getting past the first round for the first time for the first time in seven years.
STETHS who are seeking to win a trophy for the first time since the 2016 season, guaranteed their place from Zone E with a 3-1 win over Maggotty High with two goals from Tahjae Green and one from Shamaar Wallace and their 19 points means they cannot finish lower than second in the zone.
