St Elizabeth Technical will be in familiar territory on Saturday when they take on Lennon High in the second semi-finals of the ISSA/Flow daCosta cup football competition at Juici Field, set to start at 2:30pm.
STETHS, who will be seeking their second rural area double after taking the Ben Francis KO last week, have been in every rural area semi-finals and final over the last seven years and appear to be peaking at the right time.
The winners of today’s game will meet Dinthill Technical in next Saturday’s finals at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.
On Friday, Dinthill Technical came from a first half goal to beat Manchester High 2-1 in extra time in their semi-final also played at Juici Field.
STETHS will start favorites to win today after beating Lennon High 3-0 in the Inter-zone round and has since revved up their scoring machinery and have been unbeaten in rural area football since late September when they were beaten by BB Coke in first round action.
Michael Kerr and Shawn Genus are almost unstoppable, combining for 24 goals since the start of the Inter-zone round, just one less than Lennon have managed all season.
Travis Grant will carry the weight of the expectations from the Lennon fans but will also face a STETHS defence that have gotten tighter and tighter as the season progresses.
