Ten schools led by defending champions Clarendon College have returned to the quarter-finals of the ISSA/Wata DaCosta Cup after the second round came to a climactic end on Saturday.

Clarendon College, Cornwall College, Frome Technical and Dinthill Technical, last season’s semi-finalists will be joined by STETHS, Manchester High, Maggotty High, Pt Antonio High, Petersfield and Garvey Maceo as the schools that are returning.

McGrath High and Anchovy High are making it to the quarter-finals for the first time while Cedric Titus, Mannings School, Happy Grove and BB Coke are also through to the last 16.

Clarendon College overwhelmed Green Pond High 5-0 for an 8-1 aggregate; Cornwall College beat Munro College 3-0 to advance 4-1, Frome Technical advanced ahead of Vere Technical 4-2 on penalty kicks after they played out a 2-2 draw over both legs while Dinthill Technical blanked Central High 4-0 for a 5-0 aggregate.

St Elizabeth Technical blew past Brimmervale High 7-0 for a 12-1 aggregate, Garvey Maceo advanced ahead of Spalding while Dinthill Technical had their biggest win of the season 4-0 over Central High while Manchester High were 8-0 winners over St Thomas Technical for a 9-0 aggregate.

Garvey Maceo had a 2-0 win over Central High for a 4-1 aggregate; Anchovy High created school history by beating Alston High 4-0 for a 5-1 aggregate while BB Coke edged Lennon 1-0 for a 2-2 aggregate and made progress via the away goal rule.

Mannings School turned around their first leg loss to Ocho Rios with a 2-0 victory at Frome for a 2-1 aggregate and McGrath High are into the quarter-finals for the first time after they eliminated Rusea’s High with a come from behind 1-1 draw in the first game at Dinthill Technical for a 2-1 win after they had edged the former champions 1-0 in the first leg on Thursday.

Maggotty High advanced past Oracabessa 3-1 on aggregate after a 1- 1 draw at Drax Hall while Petersfield High ended William Knibb Memorial’s best season in years beating then 2-1 for the second time in four days.
