Thirteen schools have won their first three games in the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition, with nine getting their third in a row on Wednesday, led by champions Clarendon College.
Malachi Douglas scored a hat trick for the Lenworth Hyde-coached Clarendon College as they beat Claude McKay High 8-0 at Claude McKay in a Zone H game.
The margin took Clarendon College to the top of the zone on goal difference over Edwin Allen High, who beat Kellits High 6-0.
Also on Wednesday, two former winners, St. Elizabeth Technical High (STETHS) and Garvey Maceo, also won their third in a row, along with Cedric Titus High, Manchester High, Belair High, Morant Bay High, Edwin Allen High, and BB Coke High.
They joined Rusea’s High, Glenmuir High, Knox College, and Annotto Bay High, who had won their first three.
Dontae Campbell and Kenoy Bamton also got two goals each for STETHS, who rolled past Newell High 8-0, while Garvey Maceo High beat Vere Technical 4-0.
Michael Golding scored a hat trick as Morant Bay High hammered Robert Lightbourne High 12-0; Manchester High were 11-0 winners over Cross Keys High as Jhamar Brown scored four times, Adrian Campbell scored three, and Javier Newman scored two.
Cedric Titus was also in double digits as they beat Discovery Bay High 10-0, with Mackode Barrett scoring three goals and Jason Eccleston and Rasheed Henry both scoring two each.
BB Coke edged Maggotty High 2-1 for their third win, and Daniel Brown scored the only goal of Belair High’s 1-0 win over DeCarteret College.
