A number of schools have positioned themselves nicely as the rush for the remaining spots in the quarter-finals of the ISSA daCosta Cup is expected to intensify.

Irwin High pulled alongside third place Herbert Morrison Technical in Zone A after a 3-0 win over Spot Valley High on Wednesday as St James High blanked Maldon High 4-0.

Zone C looks set for an exciting finish after close wins by Lacovia High over Munro College, snapping a four games win streak and St Elizabeth Technical High (STETHS) over BB Coke, both games at the St Elizabeth Technical Sports Complex.

STETHS took over the lead with a 3-2 victory and is on 13 points, one more than Munro College while Lacovia High are on 10 points with their 2-1 win, beating Munro twice this season.

Manchester High and Christiana High moved to within a point of advancing after wins over Bellefield High and DeCarteret College respectively while Holmwood Tech are still in the race after a big 7-0 win over Alston High.

In Zone H Okeil Evans scored late in the second half to lead 10 man Browns Town to a 1-0 win over York Castle, McGrath High edged Ocho Rios High 3-2 and Dinthill were 2-0 winners over St Mary High.
