Cedric Titus High and Little London High schools are the leaders in Zone C and Zone D respectively after they opened the return round of matches in the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition with wins on Thursday.
Cedric Titus High avenged their first-round loss to Muschett High with a slim 1-0 win in Clarks Town to take over the lead in Zone C with 15 points, three more than the resurgent Herbert Morrison Technical. The loss also extended Muschett High’s winless run to four games as they are stuck on five points from their six games.
Over in Zone D, Little London flexed their muscles handing Knockalva Technical their first loss of the season, beating them 3-1 after being held to a 0-0 draw in the first round.
Tyreke Samuels scored twice, and a Knockalva Technical defender provided the other as the Westmoreland school took over the lead in Zone D from Petersfield High.
Little London improved to 11 points three more than Petersfield High as Knockalva Technical fell to fourth place on six points after Mannings School blanked Belmont Academy 4-0 to move into third place on seven points.
Mannings School is a point behind second-placed Petersfield High but has played one game more.
