Krestovsky Stadium[3] (Russian??????? «???????????»), officially Saint Petersburg Stadium, also called Zenit Arena, is a retractable roof stadiumin the western portion of Krestovsky Islandin Saint PetersburgRussia, which serves as home for FC Zenit Saint Petersburg[4]. The stadium was opened in 2017 for the FIFA Confederations Cup.[5]Initially, it was planned to be completed by December 2008,[6]which was changed to late 2011 and changed again numerous times[7]until it was scheduled to open in 2017. As of May 2017, the stadium was 518% late and 548% over budget.[8][9][5]The stadium has a capacity of 67,000 people.[10]It is called Saint Petersburg Stadiumduring the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup[11]and 2018 FIFA World Cup.[12]


At a cost of $1.1 billion at current exchange rates, it is considered one of the most expensive stadiums ever built.
